The 3rd Full-frame camera from Panasonic after S1 and S1R.
After a few rumors over the past few days, Panasonic has officially announced their 3rd full-frame mirrorless camera, Lumix S1H. This is also the first camera capable of shooting 6K / 24fps.
According to Panasonic, S1H “combines the video recording quality of professional camcorders with the compactness of a mirrorless camera. It can record 4: 3 Anamorphic mode video or 4K 16: 9 Full-frame mode video or crop “.
Also, S1H is equipped with V-Log / V-Gamut color system with a 14+ stops of dynamic range. It helps create videos with the same quality of the two famous camcorders GH5 / GH5S or the $ 16,500 Panasonic Cinema VariCam cameras. Furthermore, the camera has no limitation on recording time, which means users can use it until the battery or the memory card runs out.
“Lumix S1H can capture both bright and dark value, keeping every detail so that it can recreate the human skin in the most authentic way.”
Some other features of the machine include: 2 memory card slots (XQD + SD), 3.2″ 2.1m-Dot Triaxial Tilt Touchscreen, 5.76m-Dot 0.78x-Magnification OLED LVF with 120Hz refresh rate, Contrast-Detect 225-Area system, 3100mAh battery, Type-C USB port, HDMI. Last but not least, 3.5mm port for headphones and microphone.
This is Panasonic’s 3rd mirrorless camera besides the S1 and S1R duo. With these three devices, Panasonic can attract a large number of customers. From normal, multi-user (S1), professional photographers (S1R) and amateur/ professional filmmakers (S1H). The company also announced to publish a line of cameras next year that can record 8K videos and take 33MP images.
Panasonic Lumix S1H will be available this fall with a price of $ 4,000 (about 94 million).
